The popular YouTube culture of “Storytime Animation” would not exist without the bombastic charisma and comedic vulnerability of Adande “sWooZie” Thorne. A self-taught illustrator from Trinidad, sWooZie’s family came to America when he was a young child. When his dream of attending art school to become a Disney animator did not pan out, he turned to a then-fledgling website his friends were calling “u tube” and became one of the platform’s first creators to focus on animation. His unique style and personal approach have earned him 7.7 million subscribers and influenced countless creators to follow in his footsteps.
